Convert 62_{ten} to a number in base four.

## SOLUTION TO EXAMPLE 1:

#### Step 1:

Divide 62 by four(First row). This will give 15 with a remainder of 2.

#### Step 2:

Divide 15 by four(Second row). This will give 3 with a remainder of 3.

#### Step 3:

Divide 3 by four(Third row). This will give 0 with a remainder of 3.

#### Step 4:

Now that we have zero(from step 3), the final step is to read the remainders from ground up. i.e. **3-3-2**

#### This implies that:

62_{ten} to a number in base four is equal to 332_{four}

## EXAMPLE 2:

Convert 85_{ten} to a number in base three.

## SOLUTION TO EXAMPLE 2:

0 | r 1 |

#### Step 1:

Divide 85 by three(First row). This will give 28 with a remainder of 1.

#### Step 2:

Divide 28 by three(Second row). This will give 9 with a remainder of 1.

#### Step 3:

Divide 9 by three(Third row). This will give 3 with a remainder of 0.

#### Step 4:

Divide 3 by three(Fourth row). This will give 1 with a remainder of 0.

#### Step 5:

Divide 1 by three(Fifth row). This will give 0 with a remainder of 1.

#### Step 6:

Now that we have zero(from step 5), the final step is to read the remainders from ground up. i.e. **1-0-0-1-1**

#### This implies that:

85_{ten} to a number in base three is equal to 10011_{three}
