The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) have rewarded academic excellence of top 16 UTME students.
A total of N16 million naira was awarded in scholarships to the best performing students in the last Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination exercise. Each of this students will receive N200 000 every year for the next five years if they gain admission this year(2020). All sixteen students have shown their express desire to take up on different engineering courses in the university.
The top three scores were obtained by Ojuba Mezisasha Shalom, Nwobi Okwuchuwu David and Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwa Agnes. Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwa Agnes lead the UTME scores with a national score of 365. Ojuba Mezisasha Shalom and Nwobi Okwuchuwu David scored 359 and 363 respectively.
According to The Guardian, these three students have been awarded a scholarship worth N16 million alongside 13 other students with brilliant performances.

In addition to the scholarship, each of the students got a brand new laptop. Furthermore the president of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, Funmilola Ojelade donated an extra laptop and tablet to Agnes, the leader of the pack.
Maduafokwa Agnes was the president of the Mathematics club in her school, Louisvilles Girls High School, Ijebu-Itele in Ogun state.
