All Progressives Congress leader Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed that his presidential ambition is not dead. This statement became necessary because he heard people saying his planned ambition to be President in 2023 is dead.
Tinubu made this statement on Saturday while reacting to the dissolution of the National Working Committee by President Buhari. His statement was to those who think the President’s actions and the NEC meeting have ended his purported 2023 ambitions. He sought their pity.
Also, he noted that he is a mere mortal who does not enjoy the length of foresight. Likewise, he doesn’t enjoy political wisdom those persons profess to have. Furthermore, he made mention of people who already assigned colourful epitaphs to the 2023 death of an alleged political ambition. An ambition that is not yet even born.
However, Tinubu did not deny or affirm whether he had a Presidential ambition. Nevertheless, the elder statesman said that there was no time for such due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Hence, he prefers to engage himself with ways to recover the economy of the country.
The former Lagos state governor revealed how he has devoted these last few months to brainstorm policies that may help the nation. Hence, his future political ambitions cannot be ascertained now.
In conclusion, he said he had toiled for the success of the APC. Same way every other person has. For that reason, he would continue to make sacrifices that ensures the party’s progress.
