Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s presidential ambition is being threatened. This is due to the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari rejected Adams Oshiomhole as national party chairman.
Instead, President Buhari pitched his tent behind Victor Giadom as Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
It has been reported that Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State has the ambition of becoming Nigeria’s president. Hence, he has been getting close to President Buhari and the cabal — a group of power brokers at the Aso Rock Villa.
Furthermore, Tinubu had strategically imposed his loyalist, Oshiomhole as APC Chairman. This was because he believes Oshiomhole will enable him to become the APC candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
Moreso, Tinubu was confident that being on Buhari’s side and the cabal, he will have a smooth ride to becoming Nigeria’s president.
However, Tinubu’s hope of becoming the President was diminished as Buhari rejected the Tinubu-Oshiomole political structure in the APC.
Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu, made this statement Wednesday. He stated Buhari’s recognition of Victor Giadom as the APC party national chairman.
The root of the divide within the APC is about the party’s choice of candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
Reports say that the political attack on Tinubu is aimed to first strip him of his national influence. Thereafter, his political influence would also be stripped in Lagos State.
Tinubu and Oshiomhole had also forced their way through to impose Abiola Ajimobi as Deputy Chairman, South West of APC.
However, Abiola Ajmobi has taken ill and remains in a coma at a Lagos hospital. Reports had it that he is critically ill and currently on life support. However, the family says he is still alive.
